Hot Stone Massage
A wonderful massage sequence using heated stones. This treatment is an excellent choice during the chilly months. Also, the heat from the stones are beneficial during a deeper massage treatment to help “break-up” the adhesions formed in the muscle tissue. Ayurvedic Shirodhara Warm Oil Treatment

Shirodhara is a form of Ayurveda medicine that involves gently pouring liquids over the forehead (the ‘third eye’). It was developed by vaidyas (practitionars of Ayurveda) in Kerala, India for use in sukhachikitsa (restorative therapy) and can be one of the steps involved in Panchakarma. The name comes from the Sanskrit words shiras ‘head’ and dhara ‘flow’. Shirodhara has been used to treat a variety of conditions including eye diseases, sinusitis, allergic rhinitis, greying of hair, neurological disorders, memory loss, insomnia, hearing impairment, tinnitus, vertigo, Ménière’s disease and certain types of skin diseases like psoriasis. It is also used non-medicinally at spas for its relaxing properties.

TuNai
Tuina is a branch of Traditional Chinese Medicine, utilizing the same theories as Acupuncture. Hand techniques are used to stimulate and harmonize the Qi energy of the body through massage and manipulation of the energy pathways and their corresponding acupoints. This leads the body into a state of balance and self-healing. Tuina is unique due to its variety of hand techniques, particularly the oscillation methods, designed to relax the soft tissue, increase circulation, decrease pain and spasm, and realign the musculo-skeletal system. These techniques range from energy healing, subtle pressure, to deeper, more vigorous massage. Treatment methods vary according to each individuals complaints.
